The Craft

See What Goes Into Crafting The Worlds Better Cup

Growing Coffee

We source our 100% organic beans from small farms in the world's finest coffee growing regions. The optimal combination of altitude, soil quality, and weather conditions, along with careful manual harvesting and processing yields beans of unparalleled quality. Our premium quality, certified organic coffee is grown on small farms from the world's most celebrated growing regions. This is a higher quality standard than the conventional beans commonly used by other brands.

Roasting

All of our 100% organic, specialty grade green coffee beans are shipped to our roasting facilities, where they're small-batch roasted by expert roast masters. The process of small-batch roasting is slower and more painstaking than the automated "mega-batch" roasting so commonly found in the coffee aisle of the average retailer, but it ensures that our roasters fully bring out the nuanced flavors and unique characteristics of each bean.

Curating

Turning great coffee beans into the amazing coffee flavors we love is as much art as it is science. We apply decades of coffee expertise to create precisely the right flavor notes, intensities and overall character from all of our single-origin beans and blends. Each of our coffees is the result of a unique flavor ambition, honed through decades of dedication to coffee excellence. Our coffee experts taste cup after cup before arriving at just the right formula to go into our pods and into your morning cup.

Packing

Our aluminum pods are designed with two things in mind. First, to ensure that each and every cup tastes as good on day 365 as they do on day 1, by locking out oxygen and locking in flavor in a way that traditional plastic pods just can't match. Second, to maximize pod recyclability and help keep as many of the more than 40 million pods consumed daily out of landfills as possible. This unique combination of better tasting coffee and less plastic going to landfills is what makes us confident to call our product the worlds better cup.

The Coffee Belt

Finding The World's Finest Beans

All our products are made with 100% organic, single-origin beans or blends, grown on small farms located in the finest coffee-growing regions across the coffee belt.

The coffee belt is the geographic area between the Tropics of Cancer and Capricorn in which the best conditions for growing coffee beans exist. This belt encircles the earth, stretching across five continents and encompassing more than 70 countries. The warm, humid climates and high altitudes, in combination with the unique soil conditions, imbue coffee beans with the unique flavor characteristics of each region.

Latin America

Includes countries like Brazil, Colombia, Honduras, Guatemala, and Costa Rica. These regions are known for producing coffee with bright acidity, fruity flavors, and a smooth body.

Africa

Includes countries such as Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda. African coffees are often noted for their complex flavors, floral and fruity notes, and a pronounced acidity.

Asia-Pacific

Includes countries like Vietnam, Indonesia, India, and Papua New Guinea. Coffees from this region often have a full body with earthy, spicy, and sometimes herbal flavor profiles.

Beyond The Cup

Better For Farms, Farmers, And The Planet

As a triple-bottom-line business, determined to put people and planet ahead of profit, we do everything we can to have a positive impact on our world, even as we go above-and-beyond to create exceptional products.

Better For Farms

Conventional agriculture takes a toll on the planet, creating a ripple effect through not only our food system but also the health of our soil, water system and air. Although this can't be fixed in one simple move, Cambio is committed to working with partners who strive to minimize their environmental impact and constantly improve, in small and large ways.

All of our 100% organic beans are grown on farms that avoid using synthetic fertilizers or pesticides, or genetically modified organisms (GMOs). By practicing sustainable farming methods these farmers also protect and preserve our planet, reducing pollution, conserving water, reducing soil erosion and increasing soil fertility.

Better For Farmers

Most coffee-farming families live well below the Global Poverty Line of $1.90 per person per day. Reliance on income from coffee has left them struggling to put healthy food on the table, year after year. At the same time, a flood of cheap, processed foods has left families malnourished and prone to chronic health issues like diabetes, obesity, and heart disease.

That's why we support Food 4 Farmers. We believe coffee-farming families and their communities should have access to nutritious food every day. Food 4 Farmers works with coffee-farming families who are now leading the way to healthier communities, by creating thriving local food hubs, diversifying income, and farming sustainably to promote biodiversity and ecosystem resiliency.

Better For The Planet

It's not enough simply to reduce, reuse and recycle and hope for the best. Slowing the flow of trash to landfills, using more recyclable materials, and ensuring that our recyclable materials actually make it to recycling facilities, are all important steps in the right direction. But what about the damage that's already been done, in the form of oceans filled with an ever-rising tide of plastic?

As part of our commitment to help clean plastic from our oceans, Cambio has partnered with 4Ocean. 4Ocean is an amazing organization on a mission to end the ocean plastic crisis, and protect the people and places we all love, for future generations to come. Since 2017, 4Ocean has removed close to 38 million pounds of plastic from our oceans and that number grows every day, and every purchase of Cambio products contributes to the mission.

Ask An Expert

Questions About Our Coffee

Cambio's coffee curator, Lindsey Bolger, answers a few of the most frequently asked questions we receive about coffee.

Where does Cambio get their beans?

We source organic specialty beans from small farms in the world's top coffee growing regions. Our current products feature single-origin beans and blends from Colombia, Sumatra, Central and South America, but we're always exploring new regions and sources.

Does Cambio roast their own coffees?

Our expert coffee curator develops our product profiles and provides exact specifications to our dedicated roasting partner, who small-batch roasts our beans to the highest standards.

Are all Cambio products made with organic beans?

Yes. All of our products are made with 100% organic specialty arabica coffee, including our Decaf, which uses the Swiss Water Process to naturally remove caffeine without the use of chemicals. There may be times when we introduce a "limited edition" roast and will specify if it's not organic.

Where do Cambio coffees fall on the "100-point scale"?

Only 10% of the coffee in the market have an 80 or higher rating. Cambio sources coffees in the mid 80s to the low 90s. Our Colombian and Sumatran roasts are in the high 80s to low 90s.
